Smart charging with Zaptec
Connect your Zaptec with the login from the Zaptec app. WattVise then starts the charging in the cheapest hours, pauses it when the price goes up, and imports every session with what it cost.
Connect it
- Settings → Chargers → Zaptec: log in with your Zaptec account, the one in the Zaptec app.
- Pick your chargers.
- Choose how each should charge: at once, in the cheap hours or by the smart plan.
What works
- Start, pause and resume
- WattVise authorises and starts the charging, pauses it when the price goes up and resumes it in the next cheap hours.
- Every session
- Energy per quarter hour, priced at the spot price, with CO₂ and the car that was plugged in.
- RFID tags
- Link a tag to a car, and sessions started with it count for that car in the statistics.
- Housing associations
- A Zaptec installation as a whole: one rule for every charger, load balancing of the installation's current, statistics and billing.
Questions
- Does the Zaptec app still work?
- Yes. WattVise uses Zaptec's cloud as the app does; you can still start and stop from the Zaptec app, and a session started there follows your eco mode too.
- Why isn't today's session in the statistics?
- Zaptec lists a session only once the car is unplugged; WattVise imports it within the hour after that.
- Is my Zaptec login safe?
- It's stored encrypted and used only to read and control your own chargers.
